You will learn about the difficult fate of the Royal residence and the feat of restorers who reсonstructed the interiors of the Catherine Palace after the world war II.
The Amber room is the "eighth wonder of the world" and the pearl of the Catherine Palace. This Room is of a special historical value. Its history still has many secrets. During the Second world war the priceless Amber Room was stolen by the Nazis and taken out of the country. During reconstruction that lasted for 24 years the original drawings and sketches were used.
The Catherine Park complements the grandeur of the Palace. All components of the Park – fountains, alleys, canals, bridges, gazebos, sculptures are organically combined. The park was created during two centuries under the influence of various park styles and the result is amazing.
